Tue 12 September - Fri 15 September 2023 with Prof. Dr. Martin Sander

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Max Reger's birth we are working on two outstanding
instruments of the German late romantic period - the practically unchanged
preserved Furtwängler&Hammer organ in the Verden Cathedral and the
Sauer organ in the Bremen Cathedral.

With Prof. Dr. Martin Sander (Munich / Basel) we will work on works by
works of Max Reger according to the free choice of the participants in a balanced
mixture of smaller and larger works.

The course is aimed at students, full-time and part-time church musicians.

Martin Sander is one of the leading interpreters of organ music German romance.
He works as a professor for organ at the University of Music and Theater Munich,
also in the same Function at the University of Music in Basel. Previously he taught
in Detmold, Heidelberg and Frankfurt/Main. Among his own teachers in study and
master classes were Ulrich Bremsteller, Harald Vogel, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini,
Flor Peeters and Edgar Krapp. Simultaneously with his musical studies he received
his doctorate at the University of Göttingen in physical chemistry.
Winning several major organ competitions - Mendelssohn Competition Berlin,
ARD Competition Munich, J.S.Bach Competition Leipzig and Prague Spring - prepared
his international concert career. He regularly gives concerts in many important churches
and halls and performed as a soloist with several renowned orchestras.
In addition to productions and concert recordings for various German and he played
several for foreign radio and television stations CD on. He leads numerous master
classes and is a juror international competitions and acts as an expert Organ restoration
and new construction projects.
