ORGAN MANAGEMENT IN EUROPE SINCE 1990 • CD- AND DVD-LABEL

Dear friends of the organ,

With your support, “Organ Craftsmanship and Music” can be safeguarded as “Intangible Cultural Heritage”!

The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, through an entry of the German section of UNESCO in Berlin in 2014, included “Organ Building and Organ Music” in the new “German Nationwide Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage”. In December 2015, the Federal Government nominated this project, in the Paris UNESCO headquarters, to be included in the “Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”. The German Association of Organ Experts (Vereinigung der Orgelsachverständigen Deutschlands, VOD), Karlsruhe wrote this application and now they prepare a new version of this application under the title “Organ Craftsmanship and Music” for the UNESCO.

The inclusion of “Organ Craftsmanship and Music” in UNESCO’s “Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity” would mean that the work of all organists, organ builders, and organ experts will be seen in new light and their interest in this instrument will be newly assessed.

If you would like to help and become part of this success, please support the application with a personal statement such as:

I support the inclusion of “Organ Music and Craftsmanship” in the “Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.“ [Please feel free to also include any personal reason for your support.]

Name, title [e.g. organ builder, organist, cantor, organ expert] workshop, church, concert hall in place. It is important to list at least your name and work location or home town.

These statements will be collected and added to the application. They will be an important indication of the broad support by the public, both in Germany and abroad.
