ORGAN MANAGEMENT IN EUROPE SINCE 1990 • CD- AND DVD-LABEL

 

Julian Beutmiller has been cathedral cantor at St. Kilian's Cathedral in Würzburg since November 2023 and directs the choirs of the
cathedral boys, the choral schola and the women's schola Vox anima. As deputy to the cathedral music director,
he also works with the cathedral choir and other choirs of the cathedral music department. Previously, he worked as regional cantor in the
diocese of Regensburg, based at Metten Abbey. He studied church music, organ, choral conducting and
organ improvisation in London, Freiburg and Regensburg, graduating summa cum laude in all subjects. In addition to
his work at the cathedral, he has been teaching liturgical organ playing and improvisation at the
Freiburg University of Music since October 2024.
Beutmiller has won prizes at several international competitions. In July 2023, he was awarded third prize at the 18th
International Competition for Organ Improvisation in Schwäbisch Gmünd. He is also a prize winner of the
‘Spitzenklänge’ choir conducting competition (2021) and won the Karg-Elert Prize at the
International Organ Competition ‘Faszination Orgel’ in Mannheim. For his musical career, he was
awarded the University Prize 2024 by the city of Regensburg. His concert activities have already taken him to
numerous concert halls and churches in Germany as well as to England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and
Czechia.
